They will prove invaluable. SQL gives you native access to data without relying on possibly complicated abstractions. Markdown is a super cheap way to get basic formatting that works almost everywhere (GDocs, GitHub, Slack, Notion, etc.)
Data scientists have to tell stories to stakeholders (execs, other teams) all the time, but we practice with each other. We have a bi-weekly lunch-and-learn or journal club, where it’s one person’s responsibility to teach something (anything!) to the rest of us. It could be walking through an article, the results of an analysis, or technical practices.
